We have an exciting opportunity available to join our team and support our vital work as a fundraiser.
Fundraiser – Hartlepool Foodbank
This role is offered on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract for 18.5 hours per week, equivalent to 74 hours over a four‑week period, with flexible working options available.
The post holder is expected to be available between Tuesday and Friday, with exact working days agreed with the Project Coordinator.
The role includes 12.5 days annual leave, equivalent to five weeks, plus public holidays.
The salary is £15,180 per annum, with a 7.5% pension contribution.
In this vital role, you will develop and grow fundraising activity to secure the financial sustainability of Hartlepool Foodbank. You will build strong relationships, create funding bids, and inspire the local community and donors to support the Foodbank’s mission.
You will be responsible for growing income from trusts and foundations through effective research, prioritisation and the submission of high‑quality funding applications. You will steward existing private donors through regular engagement, updates and compelling impact stories, while delivering fundraising campaigns and seasonal appeals, including a major Christmas appeal. The role will involve increasing individual giving through both online and offline promotional activity, as well as planning and delivering local fundraising events to engage individuals, community groups and businesses. You will also be expected to monitor fundraising activities and expenditure to meet the requirements of successful funding grants.
A key part of the role is building strong relationships with local community groups, schools, faith groups and businesses, promoting Hartlepool Foodbank locally to widen community fundraising reach. You will proactively identify new partnership opportunities and strengthen donor loyalty through consistent communication and appreciation.
Over the longer term, you will help grow support from Hartlepool’s business community through partnerships, sponsorship and regular giving, building lasting corporate relationships that place the Foodbank at the heart of the local business community. You will also connect with colleagues across the Trussell Trust network to share best practice and access training opportunities.
